A Year Abroad
Life has the ability to really screw with our heads. In the passing days, I have come to learn this first hand through a number of personal encounters as well as with some friends of mine. I mean, life, while certainly a blessing, is without a doubt the simple most challenging thing one person endures. Full of catastrophic events, heartache, depression - Life always seems to bounce back with love, happiness, tenderness, and pride. It’s a wonder the roller coaster of emotions isn’t enough to send someone right off the tracks! However, sadly, it is.

It is important to remember that life will throw you curve balls. I’m not talking the little league world series curve ball either, i’m talking Randy Johnson, bottom of the 9th, game winner. For all we know, it could be even worse than that. I mean lets face it, God probably has a pretty decent curve ball. With that, remember that it is important to swing and miss every once in a while. I would even venture to say its okay to swing and miss a few times in a row. This failure builds character. The sort of character that sticks to your bones, and embeds itself in your genetic makeup. The sort of character that defines you. The good thing about life, there is no strike three. This country (all countries for that matter) were built by people who swung and missed numerous times. In the event that they claim strike three, were not where we are today.

I hate to bring good old Forest into this tumble,  but he did say it best…
Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get.
The solution? just eat the chocolate… at the end of the day, life’s too sweet just to throw away.
